Margot Wallström named new Chair
of the Ministerial Initiative

The Honorable Margot Wallström, First Vice-President of the European Commission, was named Chair of the Council’s Ministerial Initiative, a network of over 600 women ministers from diverse portfolios such as health, education, environment, finance, economy and development, women's affairs, and culture. The Ministerial Initiative is dedicated to advancing democracy, gender equality, and excellence in governance throughout the world by promoting ministerial level exchange on global issues.
